Afro-CariBrant Festival
This event is supported by the Government of Ontario
through the Experience Ontario program.
The Afro-CariBrant Festival is Darmont GivesBack’s flagship cultural event, held annually on the first weekend of September at Paris Lions Park in the County of Brant. This vibrant celebration showcases the richness of African, Caribbean, and Black Canadian heritage through music, dance, art, storytelling, food, and fashion.

Welcoming Newcomers. Building Belonging.
DGB Connect
DGB Connect is a community-driven initiative developed by Darmont GivesBack in partnership with the County of Brant, the Brant OPP, and local organizations to support the settlement, integration, and empowerment of newcomers and racialized residents across the County of Brant.
Rooted in inclusion and collaboration, DGB Connect works to bridge service gaps, promote belonging, and ensure equitable access to resources for immigrants, refugees, and individuals adapting to a new community life in the County.

A Culturally Grounded Educational Parent Support Hub
R.O.O.T.S.
R.O.O.T.S. (Raising Our Offsprings Together for Success) is a dynamic community-based program under Darmont GivesBack that supports African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) families, especially parents and caregivers, in raising confident, successful children within the Canadian education system and beyond.
ROOTS bridges intergenerational, cultural, and systemic gaps by offering holistic, culturally responsive support that empowers families to thrive.
Program Goals
- Equip ACB parents with tools to navigate and advocate within the education system
- Promote cultural pride, identity, and emotional resilience in ACB youth
- Foster intergenerational understanding and parent-child communication
- Create safe spaces for families to access resources, mentorship, and peer support

- Parenting Circles & Support Groups
Facilitated sessions where parents can share, learn, and receive guidance from educators, community leaders, and other parents. - Workshops & Information Sessions
Topics include: navigating school systems, scholarship opportunities, dealing with discrimination, mental health, and financial planning for education. - Youth Mentorship & Cultural Identity Building
Programs that support ACB youth in building confidence, setting goals, and embracing their heritage. - Scholarship and Grant Guidance
Information and assistance to help parents access funding opportunities for high school and post-secondary students.

Extending Compassion Beyond Borders
Overseas Outreach
Through our Overseas Outreach program, Darmont GivesBack partners with grassroots organizations and diaspora communities to deliver targeted support, advocacy, and humanitarian aid in underserved regions abroad. These projects aim to strengthen education, health, and youth empowerment in countries with historical and cultural ties to our local communities.
